In Baptism, we make bold claims about our Lives in Christ. You are preaching the Message! NEW Exp – Life marked by “Newness”! • Not New in Time, but New in KIND. New quality, New Nature… Living a new kind of Life! • Trace this word, “New” through the New Testament Covenant; Commandment; Song; Heaven & Earth; He Who sits on Throne…All things New! • 2 cor. 5:17 – New Creation…old passed away…NEW! ILL – Judson, “The Joy of Life, the fire of Love.” App – God is doing a New Work in this World… In Me! Newness of Life Displayed in My Daily Dealings Exp – “Walk” is more specific than, “live” (NIV)… Our Way of Life! • Imagine every aspect of your day… people & places! • Verb Tense == Aorist, Subjection… Purpose = New Life A decisive transition to a new lifestyle! Ill – Indoor baptisteries are unfortunate…. A Public Event! • Imagine baptized at Workplace; School; Mall… “Raised to Walk in Newness of Life” App – Those Watching will think, “Well, Let’s See!” Newness, Brought by the Work of God’s Spirit within our Lives. Exp – Not a new discipline; new set of rule…New Resolution! • Power of the resurrection life of Jesus • Glory of the Father at Work Splendor of His Love, Truth & Power on Display In My Life! (As in the Resurrection of Jesus) • Holy Spirit…. “Quickening”…KJV…Spirit Life!
